Supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $221,500 - $241,800 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
* Three years progressive nursing leadership experience with patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations and internal policies. Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, critical events and ability to solve problems with critical thinking skills.
* Two years recent RN experience in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit including charge nurse responsibilities
* Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
* Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
* Active American Heart Association BLS Certification
* Active American Heart Association PALS Certification
* Registered Nurse in the State of California
* Strong leadership, fiscal and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration and consistent achievement of objectives.
* Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology, critical care unit operations and patient care workflows and processes
* Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner. Prepares and presents a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.
* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's Degree preferred.
