Job Overview
Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of OB/GYN, this Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is guided by UCSF Medical Center policies, rules, regulations, and bylaws, nursing policies, medical staff policies, and any unique ambulatory patient services assigned in the Center for Reproductive Health (CRH). The NP may perform delegated functions according to their scope of practice, which includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures.
The NP is responsible for the quality of standards of care for a specified patient population and is accountable for developing this role across all UCSF medical center locations. Credentialing is required through the Medical Staff Services Office and must be completed prior to the first working day.
- Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing recognized Nurse Practitioner Program with a master’s or doctoral degree aligned with the patient population and clinical role.
- One year of experience working as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health.
- Knowledge of general obstetrical care and female reproductive anatomy and physiology.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- One year of experience working as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health.
- Knowledge of general obstetrical care and female reproductive anatomy and physiology.
- Two or more years RN/NP clinical experience in Reproductive Medicine/Endocrinology, Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
- Experience in Obstetrics/Gynecology, Women’s Health Services.
- Two to three years of experience with diagnostic ultrasounds.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction.
- California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction.
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number.
- NP national board certification from an approved certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role (e.g., WHNP-BC).
- California Driver License (if required).
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
