Under general supervision, the Nurse Manager (Long Term Care/Geriatric Nursing) supervises the delivery of patient care at a licensed general acute care/skilled nursing facility with rehabilitation services.
Essential Duties- Directs and manages nursing care on assigned units, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care using resident outcomes data.
- Provides clinical leadership within the institution.
- Ensures unit compliance with regulatory standards.
- Represents the Nursing Division in a variety of meetings and committees.
- Ensures fiscal responsibility in managing resources.
- Maintains, monitors, and promotes a resident-centered philosophy which supports the autonomy, dignity, and rights of residents and others.
The 2322 Nurse Manager (Long Term Care/Geriatric Nursing) may perform other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)- License:
Valid, including temporary or interim, California Registered Nurse License issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). - Education:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and/or university in Nursing, Nursing Administration, or a closely related field. - Experience:
Two (2) years (equivalent to 4,000 hours) of experience as a Registered Nurse in a long‑term care, rehabilitation, or acute care hospital, within the last five (5) years.
Two (2) years of additional experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse in a long-term care facility, licensed home health agency or other hospital setting may be substituted for the educational requirement. One (1) year (2,000 hours) of work experience is equivalent to 30 semester credits or 45 quarter credits.
Special Conditions- Must possess and maintain a Resident Assessment Coordinator–Certification Training (RAC‑CT) certification.
- Spanish Fluency.
