Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with Pediatric Acute Care Certification (CPNP-AC) for a locum tenens opportunity in San Francisco, California. This hospital-based role supports pediatric intensive care and pediatric transitional care, caring for children with moderate to high complexity conditions. The assignment includes 12-hour shifts with scheduled signouts and documentation in EPIC.

Opportunity Details

• Location: San Francisco, California
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Hospital-based pediatric ICU and pediatric transitional care department (16–20 beds)
• Coverage: Approximately 12 shifts per month
• Scheduled Signouts: 6:15 AM/PM (PICU) and 6:30 AM/PM (TCUP)
• Start Date: ASAP pending credentialing

Clinical Scope

• Provide pediatric ICU (PICU) and pediatric transitional care (TCUP) coverage
• Manage pediatric patients requiring continuous monitoring and high-level inpatient care
• Support post-operative recovery and specialty surgical recovery care
• Participate in care for pediatric patients with moderate to high complexity conditions, including organ transplantation recovery
• Manage non-invasive mechanical ventilation support, including BIPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Support titration of anticoagulant therapy
• Document care and complete order entry using EPIC

Requirements

• Active California license
• DEA registration
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with CPNP-AC
• Minimum 1 year of PICU, PCICU, or pediatric hospitalist experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-acuity pediatric care settings
