Job Description
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Cardiology Department vides direct patient care during all phases of patient care (pre‑procedural, intraprocedural, post‑procedural).
- Wear lead apron required in Interventional Radiology/Neuro Interventional Radiology or Diagnostic Radiology.
- Monitor patient conditions and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in on‑call and late‑stay shifts as required.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Minimum 3–5 years combined experience in PACU, ICU, CCU, with at least 1 year Cath Lab experience.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, including equipment, accessories, surgical procedures, sterile technique, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience in nursing or equivalent professional experience, including at least 1 year recent experience in critical care.
- Ability to provide education to patients based on plan of care, procedural guidelines, and university standards.
- Previous RN experience with pre‑ and post‑procedure care of adult interventional cardiology patients.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- RCIS and/or RCES certification.

Salary InformationSalary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range depends on work experience, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreement for union positions.
