Surgical Assistant
Sutter West Bay Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled and team-oriented Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Complex Spine Surgery team in a surgical assist-focused role. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced spine care, partnering closely with renowned surgeons in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment.
The APP will play an integral role in the operating room, providing first‑assist support on complex spine procedures, while also contributing to perioperative patient care. Responsibilities will span intraoperative assistance, pre‑operative preparation, and post‑operative management, ensuring continuity and excellence across the surgical care continuum.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
- Current California license (or ability to obtain)
- Board certification
- Full schedule DEA
- BLS certification
- Other certification required for area of specialty
- Prior experience in spine surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, or surgical subspecialty care
- Experience in surgical settings/first assist
- Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team‑based, academic environment
