Overview
Join the ambulatory care Cancer Center Infusion APP team. The Infusion APPs oversee the care of 50-75 patients per day across five infusion centers, treating Oncology and non-Oncology patients. The team triages real-time clinical issues and ensures continuity of care through collaboration with physicians, surgeons, APP colleagues, and other staff. We aim to provide timely patient care, optimize the patient experience, and achieve good patient outcomes.
The team also covers a three-bed Cancer Center Acute Care unit (CACC) for higher acuity Oncology patients to reduce emergency visits and facilitate admissions when necessary.
- Provide autonomous, collaborative care in an ambulatory infusion setting for Oncology and non-Oncology patients.
- Triage real-time clinical issues and coordinate with physicians, surgeons, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Support goals of care, optimize patient experience, and promote favorable patient outcomes.
- Manage higher-acuity Oncology patients in the CACC as needed to avoid unnecessary ER visits and facilitate admissions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing approved or verified school of nursing with a master’s degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- Two (2) years of clinical experience as a nurse practitioner in the same specialty and setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in adult critical care medicine as a Nurse or Nurse Practitioner.
- Specialty
Certifications:
OCN or AOCNP. - ECG and imaging: interpretation of X-ray, CT, and MRI studies.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction
- California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number
- NP national board certification aligned with the patient population and clinical role:
Adult Outpatient (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC) - California Driver License (if required for position)
- DEA Registration with California address (Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4,
5) - AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ACLS certification
