Job Description:
VAYA OFFER Please submit all RTO at time of offer. RTO sent after contract is signed will not be considered. Must have the ability to float to other UCSF facilities and other UCSF departments. Completed references must be in hand at time of submission. For faster movement, please confirm in submission that candidates have the required experience with the following specialties/devices: ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheters Parnassus 12 Hour Day/Night Rotating Shifts.
1 Schedule Cycle (4 weeks) will be either shift, but may switch to the opposite shift in another schedule cycle depending on need
Required:
CA RN License BSN AHA BLS ACLS Travel nursing for 1 year or less in the past 5 years Minimum 4 years recent ICU experience ECMO experience within the last 6 month to 1 year Experience caring for ECMO patients as a bedside RN Experience caring for ECMO as primary responsibility without dedicated bedside perfusion support Ability to independently manage complex critical care patients Strong interpersonal communication skills CVICU/CTICU/CCU experience Strongly Preferred VA ECMO VV ECMO V-PA ECMO CRRT (NxStage) IABP (Teleflex) Impella Ventricular Assist Devices Heart Failure/Cardiogenic shock Pulmonary Artery Catheters Prostacyclin Therapies Cardiothoracic surgery recovery Heart Transplant Recovery Lung Transplant Recovery Heart Transplant Lung Transplant Bridge to transplant Highly Desirable Academic Medical Center experience Simultaneous management of multiple support devices (e.g. ECMO + CRRT, ECMO + Impella, ECMO + IABP) Potential Red flags ECMO experience limited to a perfusionist-managed environment where bedside RN had minimal ECMO-related responsibility No recent ECMO experience Limited or no experience with advanced cardiovascular critical care populations Limited experience with mechanical circulatory support devices beyond ECMO Recommendation Candidates should be assessed based on their ability to function within the UCSF ICC care model rather than ECMO experience alone.
Prior ECMO experience should be considered one component of a broader competency profile that includes cardiovascular critical care, transplant, mechanical circulatory support, and multi-organ support therapies. IMPORTANT: THIS IS A FLOAT POOL POSITION, NOT UNIT BASED: ICU RNs to float to all TCUs and ICUs, ED and PACU. Please add RTO time back to the end of the contract
