American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a CA-based hospital role requiring a CA RN license and prior ED experience.
Details- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Facility is STEMI and Stroke Certified
- Variable 3x12 shifts covering 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a
- Every other weekend rotation required with no on-call obligations
- May be required to float to other campuses within scope of practice based on census needs
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency care across pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma presentations
- Proficient in triage, IV therapy, EKG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing high-acuity conditions such as CVA, traumatic brain injury, and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
- Deliver competent, compassionate, and cost-effective emergency care in accordance with hospital and nursing standards
- Responsibilities include triage, emergency medication administration, wound and trauma management, and psychiatric crisis intervention
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only one holiday request permitted per contract
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Local candidates accepted at local rate
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Returning staff must have a one-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
