DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior IR/diagnostic imaging experience at a teaching hospital.
Details- Interventional Radiology unit within an academic medical center
- Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts with variable start times (7 or 8 AM)
- Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
- Epic EMR used
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Radiology and adult acute care experience required
- Experience with diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, procedural sedation, and pacemaker interrogation required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- Preferred experience in ICU, ED, PACU, or another procedural area
- PALS certification preferred
- Provide nursing care for adult patients undergoing interventional radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation and manage reversal agents as needed
- Perform pre- and post-procedure care, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response duties
- Maintain IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including starting and maintaining IVs
- Follow CDC standard precautions and isolation/PPE protocols
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- All requested time off must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional time off requests accepted mid-contract, and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full work history for rehire eligibility review
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally not placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work on the same unit
