DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Oncology RN for a 12-week teaching hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of pediatric oncology experience and a CA RN license.
Details- Pediatric Oncology unit at a teaching hospital
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Involves case management and patient care coordination, including assisting providers with lab and other results
- Responsible for triaging patient calls and addressing patient care needs via phone and email
- Uses Epic for charting
- May float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius if qualified
- Active CA RN license required at time of submission
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required
- APHON certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric oncology experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in oncology care, chemotherapy monitoring, neutropenic precautions, and symptom management
- Experience administering chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant care preferred
- Knowledge of infection prevention practices preferred
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- Provide direct pediatric oncology nursing care, including chemotherapy monitoring and symptom management
- Coordinate care with providers and support patient needs through triage and communication
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager prior to offer; no additional time off requests accepted mid-contract, and none allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work together on the same unit

In compliance with state pay transparency laws, we disclose that the estimated weekly pay range for this role is $2,347 - $2,609. The $2,609 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
