Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring an active CA RN license and NRP certification.

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with an EMR/charting system required (any system accepted)
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

• Level III NICU setting caring for surgical and premature neonates from 23 weeks gestation and up
• Provides care including cooling therapy, all respiratory modes, PICC lines, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line insertion
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
• No on-call responsibilities
• Every other weekend required
• Float to peds, PICU, and nursery units as needed
• Care for a complex neonatal population including cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infectious disease, neurologic, and respiratory conditions
• Manage arterial lines, central/implanted lines, UAC, and UVC
• Administer emergency medications including IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
• Manage ventilator settings across multiple modes (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
