American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license, BSN, and Trauma Level II experience.
Details- Float pool position covering ICUs, TCUs, ED, and PACU across UCSF facilities
- 12-hour Day/Night rotating shifts (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
- Schedule cycles are 4 weeks and may alternate between day and night shifts based on need
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Epic charting system preferred
- May be required to float to other UCSF facilities and departments within a 75+ mile radius
- Active CA RN license required at time of submission
- BSN required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience within the last 6 months to 1 year
- Teaching Hospital experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Recent completed travel assignment within the past 12 months required
- Experience with IV therapy, port access/management, arterial lines, blood product administration, central line care, PICC lines, and TPN/Lipids
- Experience with ventilator care, ABG interpretation, respiratory failure, and pulmonary embolism management
- Experience managing dysrhythmias and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required
- Provide direct patient care in various ICU settings including CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, and Transplant ICU
- Care for complex patients including those requiring hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medication titration
- Support patients with neurological conditions such as CVA, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy care
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and renal complications including CRRT and dialysis
- Prior University of California employment history must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
- Time off cannot be scheduled within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
