Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a teaching hospital setting requiring prior travel assignment experience and both scrub and circulate skills.

Details
  • Work in the Operating Room department of a teaching hospital
  • Handles Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS), Craniotomy, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Plastic Surgery, Dental Surgery, and combined Neurosurgery/OHNS procedures
  • Performs open and endoscopic surgical cases as well as free flap reconstructive procedures
  • Additional experience with liver and kidney transplant, neuro, spine, and vascular cases utilized
  • Utilizes the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system
  • Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts starting at 7:00am or 11:00am, 5 days per week
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Ability to float to other UCSF facilities and departments as needed
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required at time of submission
  • BSN required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • CNOR and ACLS certifications preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
  • Previous travel assignment experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Scrub and circulate skills required
  • Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
  • 2 professional references from most recent employer required
Additional Information
  • Provides perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, neurology, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, ENT, bariatrics, thoracic, and transplant procedures
  • Skilled in key perioperative protocols including Universal Protocol (time out), infection control, specimen handling, and radiation/laser safety
  • May float to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius at any time during the assignment if qualified
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
  • Any prior employment with a University of California medical facility or its acquired facilities must be disclosed in employment history for rehire eligibility review
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager at time of offer; no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, and no additional requests accepted mid-contract
