American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license, BSN, and a minimum of 4 years recent ICU experience.
Details- Float pool position covering ICUs, TCUs, ED, and PACU across UCSF facilities
- Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (7:00-19:30 / 19:00-7:30)
- Schedule cycles of 4 weeks may alternate between day and night shifts based on facility need
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Epic charting system preferred
- Floating required to other UCSF facilities and departments at any time during the assignment, within a 75+ mile radius
- Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
- BSN required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience within the last 6 months to 1 year
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Completed travel assignment within the past 12 months required
- Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids
- Experience managing ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titrating vasoactive/cardiac drips
- Experience with neurological care including CVA/acute stroke management and EVD care
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- This is a float pool position, not unit-based, supporting ICU, TCU, ED, and PACU departments
- Candidates must disclose all requested RTO at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract
- RTO may not be scheduled within the first two weeks of the assignment start date
- Locals are accepted and receive the same rate as travelers
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
