Senior Denim Washing Technician Key Responsibilities
- 1. Wash Development and Execution:
- Lead and manage all aspects of denim wash trials across Asian vendors, ensuring Quince’s brand aesthetic and sustainability standards are met.
- Translate creative design intent into clear wash recipes, parameters, and process control instructions.
- Approve, comment, and refine shade bands, ensuring consistent quality and visual appeal for bulk production.
- 2. Technical Expertise and Troubleshooting:
- Provide expert‑level onsite solutions to technical bottlenecks encountered during wash development and execution.
- Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks in both development and production stages.
- Support vendors with actionable process adjustments to ensure reproducibility and bulk consistency.
- 3. Training and Capability Building:
- Develop and implement technical training programs for factory washing teams.
- Establish and maintain a structured “Quince Wash Standard” and technical SOPs across regions.
- Build and continuously update the “Quince Denim Recipe Library” — a centralized reference of approved wash formulas, parameters, and outcomes — to ensure reproducibility, enhance efficiency, and maintain aesthetic consistency across all vendors.
- Promote sustainable washing practices, chemical efficiency, and water‑saving initiatives.
- 4. Process Control and Consistency:
Onsite
Collaboration:- Monitor and evaluate wash performance across vendors to ensure consistent hand‑feel, shade, and appearance.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis of wash‑related quality issues and lead corrective actions.
- 5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration and Reporting:
- Maintain effective written and verbal communication in English, directly liaising with U.S.‑based merchants and cross‑functional teams.
- Provide timely updates and reports on wash progress, challenges, and outcomes to Sourcing and PDs.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in denim wash development and execution, with onsite factory experience and a proven track record of working with premium denim brands such as Levi’s, AG Jeans, Frame, or similar.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of denim wash processes, including dry and wet processing washings.
- Onsite Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize wash processes onsite, working directly with factory teams.
- Language Proficiency: Strong English skills (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with merchants, sourcing, and PD teams.
- Problem Solving: Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex wash issues efficiently.
- Experience in training and mentoring factory teams to enhance technical capabilities.
