Founding Research Scientist

We’re recruiting for a frontier AI4

Science company building foundation models to accelerate discovery in complex scientific domains. Their focus is on models that reason over high-dimensional data, generalize across tasks, and unlock capabilities that don’t exist with today’s systems.

They're early, technical, and research-driven. The team is intentionally small, and the work sits right at the boundary between fundamental research and real-world impact.

• Designing and training foundation models / large language models from scratch
• Running large-scale experiments and exploring new architectures, objectives, and training regimes
• Publishing original research at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR and related venues
• Working closely with engineers and domain experts to move research into working systems
• Helping shape the core research direction of the company

• A strong research track record, ideally including top-tier conference publications
• PhD or equivalent experience from a leading US university
• Deep familiarity with LLMs, foundation models, or large-scale deep learning
• Experience from a top AI lab or research-first company
• Comfort working in an early-stage environment with high autonomy and little bureaucracy
