Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Qualitative Data Analyst to join our research team for an NIH‑funded project on a couples‑based intervention for perinatal depression. This position requires 3–4 years of experience conducting rigorous qualitative analysis and translating findings into high‑quality scientific manuscripts. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in qualitative methodologies and a track record of publishing in peer‑reviewed journals.
The role includes leading the analysis of qualitative implementation data and documenting the intervention development process for dissemination.

- Perform thematic analysis using established frameworks (e.g., thematic analysis, grounded theory, framework analysis) to identify patterns, themes, and key findings
- Develop manuscripts for 2–3 peer‑reviewed publications, including drafting introduction, methods, and results sections
- Develop dissemination presentations for scientific conferences
- Develop and upload qualitative data to a repository per NIH data guidelines
- Synthesize existing formative research data and collaborate with intervention developers and the Principal Investigator to accurately document the development process
- Prepare supplementary materials, including detailed codebooks, analytical memos, intervention description tables (e.g., TIDieR checklist), and logic models
- Master’s degree in public health, social and health behavior, social sciences, health sciences, health services research, or related field
- 3–4 years of post‑degree experience conducting qualitative research in health‑related settings, preferably including underserved or low‑resource populations
- Minimum of 2–3 first‑author or co‑author publications in peer‑reviewed journals
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple qualitative methodologies, including thematic analysis, framework analysis, content analysis, and grounded theory
- Familiarity with intervention development frameworks and reporting guidelines (e.g., TIDieR, MRC guidance for complex interventions)
- Familiarity with reporting guidelines such as COREQ and SRQR
- Proven ability to write clear, compelling introduction, methods, and results sections for scientific audiences
- Experience writing intervention development or methods papers that synthesize formative research and describe intervention components
- Portfolio demonstrating published qualitative research in peer‑reviewed journals (please provide 2–3 writing samples with application)
- Experience with reference management software (End Note, Zotero, Mendeley)
- Strong oral communication skills for presenting at conferences and team meetings
