By applying to this role, you will be considered for Research Scientist positions at Stellon Labs pushing the frontier of efficient AI. Stellon Labs is the company behind KittenML. Our research spans algorithmic breakthroughs in quantization, efficient training and inference, distillation, and post-training, as well as foundational research on training efficiency and token efficacy across pre-training, mid-training, and post-training.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco.
We Expect You To- Have first-author publications at top-tier ML venues (ACL, ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICCV, ECCV, or CVPR).
- Possess the ability to own and pursue a research agenda, including choosing impactful research problems and autonomously carrying out long-running projects.
- Be excited about pushing the frontier of efficient AI and about shipping that research open-source.
- Past experience creating high-performance implementations of deep learning algorithms
KittenML is a research lab training efficient frontier models designed to run on edge devices and low-end datacenter compute. Through advances in quantization, efficient architectures, and training efficiency, we are working to democratize access to AI — making state-of-the-art models available to anyone, on any hardware. Compensation Range: $300K – $500K + equity
