Position Title
Junior/Assistant/Associate Specialist – Manglik Lab, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of California, San Francisco (San Francisco, CA)
Position DescriptionThe Manglik lab at UCSF is recruiting a Junior/Assistant/Associate Specialist to support ongoing research in the structural and biochemical basis of signaling biology and drug discovery.
Responsibilities- Support ongoing research in the structural and biochemical basis of signaling biology and drug discovery.
- Maintain day‑to‑day laboratory operations, including ordering reagents, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation and records.
- Assist with experimental workflows in cell culture, protein biochemistry, and drug discovery assays.
- Junior Specialist:
Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) or at least four years of research experience. - Assistant Specialist:
Master’s degree or a baccalaureate degree with three or more years of research experience. - Associate Specialist:
Master’s degree (or equivalent) or five to ten years of relevant experience. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established research protocols and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
- Interest in long‑term research training prior to graduate or PhD studies.
- Familiarity with basic molecular or cell biology techniques.
- Experience with protein biochemistry, cell culture, or other wet‑lab biology.
- Previously served as a lab manager for an academic lab.
Salary range: $57,000 – $91,100 (see Table 24B for details).
