ML Research Scientist – Computational Biology
Early-stage biotech startup, Bay Area
Well-funded startup applying foundation models to a high-value problem in drug development. Strong technical founding team with pedigree across top-tier AI labs, biotech, and academic research institutions.
The roleDesign and prototype novel ML methods and evaluation frameworks applied to large-scale biological sequencing data. Work spans model development, benchmarking, and dataset analysis in a fast-moving, cross-disciplinary environment.
Must-haves- PhD in ML, Computational Biology, or related field
- Demonstrated research track record
- Expertise in representation learning and/or large-scale sequence modeling
- Experience with
-omics data or biological ML benchmarks - Prior startup exposure
- Familiarity with clinical or diagnostic applications
