We are partnering with an ambitious biotechnology company building advanced AI systems to accelerate therapeutic discovery. Combining expertise across machine learning, computational biology, and drug development, the team is developing novel approaches to modelling and designing biological systems using state‑of‑the‑art AI.
As the company expands its research organisation, they are seeking an AI Research Scientist to help develop next‑generation models for proteins, small molecules, and other biomolecular systems. This is a highly technical, research‑focused position for someone who enjoys pushing the boundaries of AI while delivering practical outcomes in a fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and train machine learning models for protein design, molecular modelling, and therapeutic discovery
- Research and implement novel approaches in generative modelling for biomolecular systems
- Contribute to the development of models for protein structure prediction, protein engineering, and small molecule generation
- Design and evaluate new model architectures and training strategies
- Translate cutting‑edge research into scalable, deployable solutions
- Collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, and scientific leadership
- Stay at the forefront of developments in machine learning, computational biology, and AI‑driven drug discovery
- Help shape the future direction of the company’s AI research platform
- PhD in Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline
- Strong research background in AI applied to biological or chemical systems
- Experience developing and training deep learning models for biomolecular applications
- Track record of publications, research contributions, or industry work in areas such as protein modelling, protein design, molecular generation, or computational drug discovery
- Strong programming and model development skills using modern machine learning frameworks
- Ability to move beyond research concepts and successfully implement working solutions
- Experience with in AI‑for‑biology, computational drug discovery, or adjacent fields is highly desirable

$150,000 – $200,000 base salary with meaningful equity package. Relocation support and visa sponsorship available
