AI Research Scientist

We are supporting a confidential, well-funded AI company building next-generation systems at the frontier of machine learning research and applied AI. The company is solving complex, real-world problems using cutting-edge techniques in large-scale model training, optimisation, and deployment. This is an opportunity for a Research Scientist to join an exceptional team working at the intersection of research and production-grade AI systems.

As a Research Scientist, you will contribute directly to the development of novel AI/ML methodologies and their application in real-world systems. You will work closely with other researchers and engineers to design experiments, develop models, and translate research breakthroughs into scalable products.

• Conducting research in machine learning, deep learning, and/or foundation models
• Designing and running experiments to test new hypotheses and model architectures
• Developing and improving state-of-the-art models for real-world applications
• Collaborating with engineers to bring research into production systems
• Analysing large-scale datasets to derive insights and improve model performance
• Publishing internal and potentially external research where appropriate
• Staying current with the latest developments in AI/ML research

• Strong academic or industry background in Machine Learning, AI, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience building or researching deep learning models at scale
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch or Tensor Flow)
• Strong understanding of modern ML techniques (e.g. transformers, diffusion models, or large language models)
• Ability to translate research ideas into practical implementations
• Experience working in fast-paced research or startup environments is highly desirable
