Junior Specialist – Schwer Lab
A molecular genetics and neurobiology laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual for a Junior Specialist position. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects and will be trained in and expected to perform a broad range of molecular, cellular, and neurobiological techniques. Additional duties include analyzing and presenting data at lab meetings, preparing reagents and stocks, ordering supplies, and contributing to general laboratory upkeep.
The individual will work closely with graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, and the principal investigator, and will have the opportunity to co‑author peer‑reviewed publications based on their contributions.
- Contribute to ongoing research projects in a molecular genetics and neurobiology laboratory.
- Perform a broad range of molecular, cellular, and neurobiological techniques.
- Analyze and present data at lab meetings.
- Prepare reagents and stocks, order supplies, and assist with general laboratory upkeep.
- Collaborate with graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, and the principal investigator.
- Co‑author peer‑reviewed publications based on contributions.
- Equipped with a bachelor's degree in molecular biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a related field by the start date.
- Curriculum vitae must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission.
- Degree field in any of the life sciences.
- Previous laboratory research experience.
- Previous experience in molecular biology research.
Salary range: $55,000 - $58,600. See Table 24B for the official salary range.
