Chan Lab - Junior or Assistant Specialist

Position Description

A junior/assistant specialist opportunity is available at the University of California, San Francisco in the Department of Radiation Oncology. This position involves assisting cancer research by developing data collection and analysis of clinical data. Responsibilities include data collection, management, and cleaning, working closely with research group members, participating in group meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. The specialist will conduct data analyses and prepare presentations for team meetings and journal clubs, and will join a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists in the Department of Radiation Oncology.

The role encourages taking advantage of training and learning opportunities within the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and related entities at UCSF, preparing the applicant for future clinical research opportunities.

• Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess (or be in the process of obtaining) a B.A. or B.S. (or equivalent) in biology, chemistry, physics, or a related field.
• Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess (or be in the process of obtaining) a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of research experience.

• Experience with clinical medicine.
• Experience developing experimental and analytical plans.
• Prior research experience.
