Revolution Medicines is a late-stage clinical oncology company developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins. The company’s RAS(ON) inhibitors daraxonrasib (RMC‑6236), a RAS(ON) multi-selective inhibitor; elironrasib (RMC‑6291), a RAS(ON) G12C-selective inhibitor; zoldonrasib (RMC‑9805), a RAS(ON) G12D-selective inhibitor; and RMC‑5127, a RAS(ON) G12V-selective inhibitor, are currently in clinical development.
As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.
As Director, Translational Sciences, you will be a key member of Translational Research, reporting to the Vice President of Translational Research focusing on:
- Lead the scientific strategy and execution of the Translational Research Assay Core, ensuring delivery of high-quality, innovative assays supporting discovery and translational programs.
- Establish and continuously evolve assay platforms that enable biomarker discovery, pharmacodynamic assessments, mechanism‑of‑action studies, and translational hypothesis testing.
- Drive exploratory translational research aimed at understanding mechanisms of sensitivity, intrinsic resistance, and acquired resistance across the Revolution Medicines portfolio.
- Develop and execute mechanistic studies using patient‑derived samples, preclinical models, and emerging technologies to generate actionable biological insights.
- Identify novel therapeutic vulnerabilities and rational combination strategies based on clinical and preclinical findings.
- Translate observations from clinical studies into research hypotheses that inform target discovery, drug discovery, and translational strategies.
- Foster seamless bidirectional translation between clinical observations and discovery research.
- Apply functional genomics, single‑cell and spatial approaches, and complementary molecular and cellular methods to generate decision‑enabling data.
- Partner with computational scientists to integrate multi‑omic datasets with functional biology and generate mechanistic insights.
- Cross‑functional Leadership:
Partner across Research, Translational Medicine, Bioinformatics, and Clinical Development to integrate findings into biomarker and development strategies.
- Scientific Leadership & Execution:
Design, prioritize, and interpret rigorous studies using clinically relevant models and patient‑derived materials to address key translational questions. - Reverse Translation & Resistance Biology:
Convert patterns of response, non‑response, and progression into experimental studies that define mechanisms and inform novel therapeutic targets and/or combination strategies. - Data Integration:
Integrate experimental results with clinical, biomarker, and computational datasets to generate actionable insights. - Capability Building:
Establish and evolve internal workflows, evaluate new technologies, mentor scientists, and manage external research partners as needed.
Education:
- PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree in cancer biology, molecular or cellular biology, biological engineering, translational sciences, or a related discipline, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Deep expertise in oncology biology and demonstrated success connecting human disease or clinical observations to experimental models and drug‑development hypotheses.
- Strong knowledge of targeted therapy, oncogenic signaling, and mechanisms of drug response and resistance; experience in RAS‑driven cancers is highly desirable.
- Experience with functional genomics and high‑dimensional profiling technologies, including single‑cell, spatial, or integrated multiomic approaches.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional research, influence strategy, and communicate clear, decision‑oriented recommendations.
