Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientist / Associate Director to join our Translational Biology team. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of Translational Biology. The incumbent will have hands on experience leading research programs and will be skilled in developing and executing experiments to advance novel biologics. This role will have the opportunity to lead programs from early discovery to IND-enabling studies, working collaboratively across groups in research and development and will be the scientific team leader responsible for data analysis, thorough documentation in advancement of INDs, and clear communication of results.
Key Responsibilities- Lead research programs and work collaboratively with researchers and management to define strategic direction and execute on programs
- Design and implement critical experiments to advance programs into clinical development
- Keep detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of all experimental procedures and results
- Present data at project team meetings and internal reviews with key stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and develop scientists to drive scientific excellence and build a high-performing biology team
We’re looking for candidates who are curious, proactive, and collaborative, with a strong scientific foundation and hands-on technical expertise. Key qualifications include:
- Demonstrated success leading autoimmune or inflammatory disease programs
- Experience in CRO management
- Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in immunology as evidenced by contributions to INDs, patents, and/or publications
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines is essential
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required
- PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, or related field preferred
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience (may include post doc)
- The expected base pay range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000 annually and will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skills and competencies. The pay range reflects several levels within the Scientific job family, and final title and compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
