Job Description Department OverviewThe Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is dedicated to advancing the understanding of fundamental biochemical mechanisms that underlie health and disease, with the goal of enabling the development of more effective diagnostics and therapeutics.
The selected candidate will be appointed within the Irwin Research Group, which specializes in computational chemistry approaches to identify and design novel small molecules. This work supports the study and modulation of complex biological processes and contributes to innovative research at the intersection of chemistry and biology.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological science, computational / programming, or related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Basic knowledge of bioinformatics methods and data structures.
- Basic knowledge of applications programming and web development.
- Basic knowledge of databases.
- Basic project management skills.
- Basic knowledge of modern biology and applicable field of research.
- Interpersonal skills in order to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Self motivated, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of application and data security concepts.
