We are seeking a warm, organized, and entrepreneurial Shop Manager & Marketing Lead to help run daily retail operations while bringing our story to life through content, communication, and community engagement.

This is a leadership role for someone who loves retail, thrives on ownership, and gets excited about growing a neighborhood business.

You will serve as both the face of the shop and the engine behind our customer communication.

You’ll ensure the store runs smoothly, sales goals are met, and families feel welcomed — while also driving awareness and repeat visits through social media, newsletters, and in-store promotion.

• Open and close the store independently
• Lead the daily customer experience and set the tone for hospitality
• Support and direct part-time staff or weekend team members
• Monitor sales, traffic, and inventory flow
• Maintain an organized, beautiful, easy-to-shop space
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate priorities to the founder

• Oversee floor presentation and seasonal changes
• Feature high-priority items and manage markdown flow
• Identify slow vs fast movers and suggest intake adjustments
• Ensure the shop stays fresh, full, and inspiring

• Create and schedule regular social media content that is engaging and aligned with brand voice
• Photograph new arrivals, merchandising moments, and events
• Draft weekly newsletters
• Promote classes, programs, and community events
• Capture customer FAQs and stories
• Help grow email and SMS lists
• Track basic engagement metrics

• Welcome new families and explain how Outer Village works
• Encourage repeat visits and word-of-mouth
• Support in-store events and partnerships

• Have retail management or keyholder experience
• Are confident running a shop without supervision
• Are highly organized and proactive
• Enjoy visual merchandising
• Have experience with Instagram and email marketing
• Can balance hospitality with getting things done
• Love working with parents and young children
• Communicate clearly and professionally

Bonus if you have experience in resale, community spaces, or small business environments.
