Produce Clerk SF

Woodlands Market, Marin and San Francisco's premier gourmet grocery store, has openings for Produce/ Customer Service Superstars! Produce Clerk are responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise while giving exceptional customer service.

• Warm welcome and greeting to all customers
• Sampling products to customers and employees, giving relevant product information such as possible recipe ideas, where the product was grown, best time to eat the product, seasonality of specific products etc.
• Help customers locate products in produce as well as the rest of the store
• Picking the fruit at the level of ripeness based on customer consumption timing
• Rotating to maximize product freshness/quality and minimize waste
• Stock to ensure abundance in all areas
• Maintaining a clean, inviting and safe department

• Effective customer service (service orientation etc).
• In-depth knowledge of Produce.
• Able to prioritize work and handle multiple, concurrent tasks.
• Excellent verbal and customer service skills.
• Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Repeated lifting, bending, twisting.
