Overview

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no‑fee program that assists men and women on their journey to complete our rehabilitation program. The Seaside Thrift Store supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program, providing a positive shopping and donor experience, and enhancing customer service and teamwork skills. Our mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Responsibilities

Ensure customer and donor needs are met by greeting all customers and donors and providing prompt, courteous assistance.

Stock priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor according to Salvation Army standards.

Sort donations for processing in accordance with Salvation Army standards.

Assist in maintaining a clean, neat, and organized store. Perform cleaning duties as assigned, including windows, dusting, cashwrap area, fitting rooms, bathrooms, stockroom, breakroom, sweeping, mopping, donation area.

Follow all POS and cash register policies in accordance with TSA procedures.

Maintain safety standards and report hazards or problems to management.

Follow all HR policies and procedures.

Attend required monthly store meetings.

Follow dress code policy.

Work flexible part‑time shifts, including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately and efficiently.

Perform quality assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.

Clean up area around the donation trailer or pod at the beginning and end of each shift.

Courteously assist donors in removing donated items from their vehicles and provide receipts.

Separate and sort donated material into appropriate containers and stack properly as instructed by the store manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager, assistant manager, shift supervisor, district sales manager, and command administration.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to operate POS/cash register.
Must pass background check (criminal history and sex offender registry).
Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, customers, and donors.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
Ability to grasp, push, pull, and lift objects (e.g., clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, miscellaneous carts) and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate a telephone.
Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
