The following general description applies to all hourly store team members. Please read the detailed information listed below.
Job Duties- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication SkillsComprehend and give correct written instructions. Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
Essential Functions / Skills- Perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
- Make correct monetary change.
- Use verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Coordinate motor tasks between eyes and hands to make precise movements with speed.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing outside tasks.
- In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas.
- Sudden temperature changes in work areas and while outside.
- Fumes from food odors.
- Exposure to cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler.
- Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Talking and hearing on telephone. Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks. Depth perception. Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
TemperamentsAbility to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.
Physical Demands- Standing: most tasks performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile, bricks, with linoleum in some food process areas. Height of work surfaces between 36" and 48".
- Walking: short distances, short durations.
- Sitting: paperwork normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
- Lifting: bulk product deliveries made twice a week or more and loaded using a hand truck. Cases up to 50 pounds and up to 3 x 1.5. Cases stacked onto shelves up to 72".
- Carrying: large cans, 3 lbs 7 oz, from workstation to storage shelves. Occasionally pizza sauce 30 pounds from storage room to front store. Trays of pizza dough carried a few at a time over short distances, weighing ~12 lbs per tray.
- Pushing: moving trays on dollies. Stack of trays about 24"–30" requiring ~7.5 lbs force to push. Trays also pulled.
- Climbing: infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.
- Stooping/Bending: forward bending at waist necessary at pizza assembly station. Duration 30–45 seconds repeated continuously. Forward bending also present at front counter and stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
- Reaching: continuous up, down, forward; above 72" occasionally to change oven controls, etc.
- Hand tasks: eye‑hand coordination essential; shaping dough requires forceful forearm and wrist use; manipulating pizza peel and rolling cutter; pinching during cardboard box assembly. Must grasp cans, phone, pizza cutter, peel, boxes.
- Machines, tools, equipment, work aids: pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter and peel.
