We operate four vibrant brick and mortar markets - one on Cole and Parnassus in the heart of Cole Valley, a second in Cow Hollow on Union St, a third on Green Street in North Beach and a fourth in the Inner Sunset on 9th Ave.

As a Grocery Clerk, you are responsible for stocking incoming and backstock product on our shelves. You will be in charge of maintaining a clean and orderly space, organizing shelves out on the floor, in the walk-in, and in the back rooms. Having a positive attitude, team mentality, and an eagerness to learn is a must.
This role offers a lot of room for growth and leadership opportunities. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is a required component of this role; all Clerks must be available to work at least one weekend day regularly.

- Stock incoming and backstock product on our shelves, maintaining all aisles and sidewalks organized, safe, and clear of tripping hazards during and after deliveries
- Regularly prepare empty pallets for return to our Commissary kitchen
- Maintain clean and orderly space on the floor, in the aisles (including topstock), in the walk-in, and in all back of house areas, according to Company protocols
- Maintain sales tags, promo tags, all signage in the grocery aisles/sets, communicating any inaccuracies or discrepancies to store leadership
- Maintain clear and clean storefront, in compliance with store readiness standards
- Facing and stocking all areas of grocery (including dairy, alcohol, and our prepared G&G foods)
- Monitor product and check for expiration. Ensure products are routinely FIFO-ed (first in first out) and waste is accurately tracked and reported
- Adhere to guidelines for processing, inventory management, and ordering to ensure daily accuracy of data
- Knowledge and implementation of safe food handling procedures
- Provide excellent customer service and hospitality to all guests in all areas of the store
- Demonstrate consistent work attendance
- Ability to determine priorities and take initiative to identify and address priorities within the store throughout shift, with guidance from store leadership as needed
- Maintaining a positive, equitable work environment for all staff
- Stay informed about weekly new items and be able to guide customers to product locations throughout the store
- Communicate and collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and/or outside contacts in a timely and appropriate manner and in line with our Communication Code of Conduct
- Support with cashiering as needed

Sales floor of retail grocery stores
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs
- Must be able to spend 6-8 hours per day on your feet
- Stooping, bending, lifting, standing for long periods of time, stretching, twisting, reaching, repetitive stocking motions.
- Stocking of shelves and merchandising displays
- Handling of refrigerated product in a cold environment for extended periods of time
- Experience with retail, preferably grocery
- Experience with food preparation, service, and safety
- Experience with customer service
- A willingness to train and work in other areas of the store as needed
Required education and experience
Food Handler’s Certificate
Additional eligibility requirements
Must be 18 years or older
