We are hiring an Oncology Sales Representative to support the launch of a newly approved targeted therapy for lung cancer. The Representative will sell the oncology product to oncology practices in an assigned geographic territory, engaging oncologists, oncology nurses, office staff, and pharmacists in face‑to‑face discussions. The role requires deep knowledge of the product, disease state, customers and territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Create, build, and maintain relationships and regular communication with physicians and key thought leaders in the U.S.
- Utilize the customer relationship management system to record calls, including account planning.
- Ensure a high level of expertise and customer service is delivered to all customers.
- Collaborate effectively and mobilize appropriate resources.
- Provide scientific product information to healthcare professionals, oncologists, and other key stakeholders.
- Complete training to understand the disease state and positioning of our client’s product.
- Travel to medical offices and hospitals (80% of the time); some overnight travel may be required.
- Work 40 hours per week, potentially including weekend medical meetings.
- BA/BS from an accredited college or university required – focus in business, life science, or clinical degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical, medical device, or medical sales experience, including at least 1 year in oncology.
- Consistent track record of quantifiable/documented sales accomplishments.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, analyze, and act upon sales data within an assigned geography.
- Solid and persuasive business communication with physicians and providers.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good business judgment and discretion.
- Familiarity with a Sales Force Automation (SFA) application preferred.
- Computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% as needed, up to a 2‑hour radius from headquarters; some overnight travel may be required.
- Clinical knowledge: ability to complete a clinical product sell.
- Established relationships within territory.
- Strong knowledge of VEEVA systems.
