Position Overview
The Cardiometabolic Care Sales Team leads US sales efforts for Novo Nordisk’s cardiometabolic portfolio, which includes therapies for diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular risk reduction. The incumbent advances disease management by introducing new therapies to the market, building support among HCPs, and applying learnings that impact local markets and the broader organization.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute territory business plans to meet territory sales goals.
- Maintain relationships with physicians, providers, pharmacists, and other key stakeholders across the region.
- Analyze payer and managed care policies to influence formulary status and prescribing decisions.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities by understanding customer groups and affiliation structures (e.g., IPAs, medical groups, health systems).
- Prepare and deliver tailored account plans and presentations addressing customer needs and payer requirements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model and other sales tools during customer interactions.
- Collaborate internally across functions (Market Access, Specialty Sales, etc.) to share knowledge and opportunities.
- Manage discretionary territory budget and sample usage in compliance with company policies.
- Provide thorough product and disease state knowledge during meetings and training sessions.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and uphold Novo Nordisk’s safe driving standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
PharmD preferred. - Minimum one year of experience in Pharmaceutical/Healthcare, Sales, Consulting, Customer Service or Military.
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel) with some experience in sales or call‑reporting software.
- Self‑starter capable of evaluating options and making independent decisions.
- Aptitude for leadership and decision‑making.
- Solid understanding of diabetes and obesity therapy areas and ability to communicate technical information effectively.
