. Position Summary

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and delivering customized transportation solutions that meet each client's unique needs. You'll partner closely with operations and executive leadership to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial conversation through implementation and ongoing account growth.

Key Responsibilities New Business Development
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across corporate, education, hospitality, healthcare, technology, and private sectors.
  • Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, cold outreach, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand client transportation challenges and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline using CRM tools and sales best practices.
  • Develop customized transportation proposals and presentations that align with client goals.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to create innovative transportation solutions.
  • Lead contract negotiations and successfully close new business opportunities.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales and revenue targets.
Client Relationship Management
  • Develop trusted, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor by identifying opportunities to expand services and improve customer experience.
  • Ensure exceptional post-sale support and client satisfaction.
  • Partner with operations to deliver a seamless onboarding experience for new accounts.
Market Development
  • Stay informed on transportation industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Represent Bauer's at networking events, industry conferences, community organizations, and client meetings.
  • Develop strategic plans to increase market share throughout the Bay Area.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline development, and forecasts within the CRM.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and continuously refine sales strategies to maximize growth.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Two or more years of successful business development, outside sales, account management, or consultative sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling transportation, logistics, hospitality, travel, or business services.
  • Existing network within the Bay Area business community.
  • Experience selling enterprise or B2B service solutions.
  • Proposal development and contract negotiation experience.
