Overview
Principal Financial Group is hiring a Director of Sales – Retirement Solutions to lead sales initiatives across the San Francisco, East Bay, and Silicon Valley regions. The role focuses on building relationships with advisors and third‑party administrators to drive the adoption of defined contribution and defined benefit retirement products.
Responsibilities- Drive retirement plan sales by contacting advisors to promote products for plans with 0–10million AUM or 0–25million AUM.
- Build and maintain relationships with financial advisors and third‑party administrators.
- Collaborate with the relationship management team to identify and pursue additional sales opportunities.
- Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Minimum 2years of retirement sales experience with deep knowledge of retirement products.
- Strong work ethic and motivation to achieve sales goals.
- Excellent consultation and presentation skills.
- Understanding of portfolio construction, capital markets, and financial services products.
- Experience with non‑qualified plans, defined benefit plans, and ESOPs is a plus.
Within 5 months of employment:
Registration as an Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Representative (FINRA Series6 or equivalent and FINRA Series
63). Resident Life and Health appointment must be attained.
Base salary: $85,000 – $90,000 per year, combined with an incentive component based on performance metrics.
Time OffFlexible Time Off (FTO) is available to salaried (exempt) employees. Employees may take paid time away for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. There is no accrued bank of days under FTO.
