Account Executive, Technologies About the Position

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for providing overall strategy and leadership for regional and/or national business development and customer‑facing activities. You will create partnerships with business unit market leaders and manage strategies to win project work with existing and potential customers. This role establishes positive community relationships, builds strong networks, provides leadership, and builds teamwork both external and internal to the organization to set and accomplish annual sales and revenue targets under the company’s mission and vision.

The position functions as the liaison between business development, preconstruction, and marketing.

  • Demonstrates experience in account management and leadership, with a background in marketing and/or sales preferably within Network Infrastructure / Security / Audio Visual / Wireless services, focused on business development and growth strategy, solution and pricing development, organizational design, and client relationship building and networking.
Day in the Life
  • Partner with senior management and other company marketing, operations, and business development personnel to create key objectives, strategies, and priorities, and develop key work processes with marketing and client relationship work.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to create and implement business development strategies that will expand market share, increase brand awareness, revenue and profits, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead positioning activities of the business development team by participating in strategic planning, developing internal and external communications, coordinating prequalification efforts with targeted customers, initiating customer feedback, and performing market trend analysis.
  • Acquire new customers and projects through sourcing, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business deals to hit annual sales and revenue targets, building relationships with future clients and developing new markets with existing clients.
  • Research and develop initial contact with potential clients for early lead identification, qualify targeted opportunities that lead to project awards, and partner with project managers and estimating teams to share documentation, develop customer quotes, and ensure client priorities are satisfied.
  • Maintain Company brand standards, including logos, forms, apparel, merchandising, signs, and labels, create and assemble proposals, RFQs, RFIs, RFPs and interview presentations, and perform technical writing in support of proposals, qualification, and branding materials.
  • Deliver, present, monitor and measure prospect and proposal activities, including monthly sales revenue and budgets, and complete proposals with a focus on accuracy and compliance with owner’s specifications.
  • Create and maintain quality marketing materials such as presentations, newsletters, photos, images, digital campaign information, and letters.
  • Navigates the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, lead generation, specification, proposal, negotiation, and closing.
  • Ensure schedules are met and proposal and marketing materials are persuasive and accurate, negotiate and close new opportunities, and manage vendor sourcing processes.
  • Develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact, strengthen relationships, grow the customer base, expand service offerings, increase sales, and develop proactive plans for growth and expansion.
  • Review complex financial/business analysis and reports, provide high‑quality communications, mentoring, and team building to staff, maintain confidentiality of vendor and customer pricing and proprietary information, and influence others to do the same.
  • Identify, plan, manage, coordinate, and attend trade shows, conferences, workshops, and other networking events as needed.
