Syngene Biologics Business Development
Syngene Biologics is growing, and we are expanding our U.S. commercial presence in San Francisco, CA to strengthen engagement in key biotech hubs. This growth is driven by capabilities across CLD, process development (upstream/downstream), tech transfer, and GMP manufacturing (clinical & commercial). The focus is to build a high-performance, customer-centric commercial team that drives growth and develops long-term partnerships across the biologics lifecycle.
Role OverviewOwn and drive regional P&L performance, with accountability for strategy, pipeline, and revenue growth across biologics CDMO services. Build and manage senior client relationships, leading complex, high-value opportunities through the full commercial lifecycle while aligning global cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.
Leverage deep biologics domain expertise, strong commercial judgment, and executive communication to navigate complex stakeholder environments. Drive sustained growth through new client acquisition, strategic deal execution, and expansion of long-term partnerships within a global, matrixed organization.
Drive new customer acquisition through targeted outreach, conferences, and inbound lead conversion

This role is ideal for a proven CDMO sales leader with a strong network, a consultative selling mindset, and a consistent track record of delivering $15M+ annual revenue.
Key Responsibilities- Own and grow the region with full accountability for revenue, pipeline, and new business closures
, driving both early-stage (CLD/FIH) and late-stage (Tech Transfer/PPQ/Commercial) opportunities. - Lead complex deal cycles end-to-end:
prospecting, RFx, solutioning, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution
, ensuring high-quality, competitive, and timely submissions. - Build and expand biotech and pharma client relationships
, acting as the primary commercial interface and developing trust through strong understanding of technical needs, timelines, and business priorities. - Drive new customer acquisition through targeted outreach, conferences, and inbound lead conversion
, in close coordination with internal sales and marketing teams. - Partner with global scientific, technical, and delivery teams (U.S. & India) to craft differentiated, client-centric solutions aligned with operational capabilities.
- Maintain strong pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and CRM (Salesforce) discipline
, including weekly updates and effective management of long sales cycles. - Collaborate cross-functionally across scientific, operations, finance, legal, and project management teams to align expectations and ensure seamless execution.
- Proactively manage stakeholder expectations while identifying opportunities to enhance commercial value and long-term account growth
. - Drive high-quality,
timely RFx and proposal execution in partnership with global teams, while negotiating contracts with strong commercial rigor and maintaining proposal velocity, forecasting accuracy, and strict quality and time discipline

- Bachelor’s or Master’s, degree in relevant scientific field.
- An MBA or PhD in relevant scientific field is desirable.
- Subject matter expert in commercial and have experience in life sciences with a minimum of foundational CDMO sales experience in biologics
, including development and GMP manufacturing programs. - Proven success managing early-stage and late-stage client engagements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong executive presence and operate as an owner of a territory.
- Annual quota responsibility is more than $15M USD with a record of consistent over achievement.
- Familiarity with CLD, upstream/downstream development, tech transfer, PPQ
, and commercial manufacturing. - Experience working in a matrixed, global organization across multiple time zones.
