A privately held, science-led life sciences company, known globally for best-in-class quality reagents & kits, is hiring a field-based Senior Account Manager for its San Francisco territory.
This is a hunter role for someone who already knows the Bay Area. You will own around 100 established pharma and biotech accounts, including anchor names like Genentech, Gilead and Abb Vie, and you will spend at least three days a week in front of customers. The territory is real, established, run-rate business with clear room to grow, not a from-scratch build and not a maintenance seat.
The company is owned and run by active research scientists. It is not driven by quarterly shareholder pressure, the culture is collaborative and low-ego, and the product quality means customers already trust the brand before you walk in.
What you will do- Own and grow around 100 established pharma and biotech discovery accounts across the Bay Area, tiered by spend.
- Deepen relationships in the anchor accounts (Genentech, Gilead, Abb Vie and comparable), widening product adoption.
- Be in the field a minimum of three days a week, running new product introductions, lunch and learns, and account mapping.
- Manage high-volume, run-rate reagent business alongside larger opportunities, forecasting accurately and keeping the pipeline clean in Salesforce.
- Act as a credible, technical partner to lab leadership, scientists and procurement.
- 5 plus years of field reagent sales in life sciences. You have carried the bag and owned a territory. Capital-equipment-only or pure BD backgrounds are not a fit.
- A current, active network in Bay Area pharma and biotech, with named accounts you can speak to.
- A genuine hunter mentality and comfort being out with customers, not selling from behind a screen.
- The discipline to juggle 20 to 30 live customer conversations at once, with strong follow-up and account cadence.
- A life sciences degree and proficiency with Salesforce.
- Antibody application experience and any gene or cell therapy exposure are a plus, not a requirement.
- Competitive base (Dependent on relevant experience)
- Commission paid from dollar one, paid quarterly, with accelerators above 90% of plan. Targets are set to realistic local norms.
- Full US benefits: medical and dental at 90%, vision, life and disability cover, 401(k) with 6% match, tuition reimbursement, generous PTO, parental leave and more.
Please note applicants must have the right to work in the US, as this is a field-based territory role.
