The Auction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, responsible for overseeing all phases of industrial and commercial auctions. Day-to-day tasks include planning auction timelines, coordinating site inspections, cataloguing equipment, and working closely with appraisers, sellers, and buyers to ensure accurate asset information. The person in this role will manage auction marketing efforts, including online listings and promotional materials, and monitor bidder registrations and activity for both live and online auctions.
They will supervise auction-day operations, including setup, bid calling coordination, buyer assistance, and post-sale settlement and reporting. The Auction Manager will also handle customer inquiries, maintain documentation and records, and collaborate with internal teams to improve auction processes and client experience.
- Experience in auction operations, with strong skills in Auction Management and Auctions.
- Knowledge of Online Auctions, including platforms, listing practices, and bidder engagement.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with clients, bidders, and team members.
- Strong Customer Service skills, focused on delivering a positive, fair, and efficient auction experience.
- Background in industrial, commercial, or equipment-related sectors is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with office software and auction-related tools or systems.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects, and travel to auction locations within the region as needed.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for cataloguing assets, managing documentation, and meeting deadlines.
- High ethical standards and commitment to compliance with state bonding, licensing, and auction regulations.
- Relevant education or training in business, auctions, appraisals, or a related field is a plus.
