AI Engineer is the AI industry's only vendor-neutral event series focused purely on engineering - working with OpenAI, Anthropic, NVIDIA, Google, Microsoft and more. We've grown from 500 attendees at our first Summit to 7,500+ at World's Fair 2026, and we're just getting started.
We're hiring a Community Manager to be the connective tissue between our global AI engineer community, our ambassador network, and our events. You'll bring structure to complexity - and do it with warmth and ease. You will work between home and our San Francisco office. Hosting weekly meetups with our SF community.
What you'll do:
- Own and grow the AI Engineer community across Slack, X, Linked In and our owned platforms - driving dialogue, rituals, and knowledge-sharing.
- Build our meetup and ambassador program from scratch: rules, onboarding, newsletters, KPIs, and recruiting new city ambassadors.
- Build and own our Scholarship, Associate, NEO and TB programs end-to-end, from application through to nurture, delivery and support.
- Design practitioner-led education initiatives - workshops, cohort courses, study groups - that keep pace with how fast AI engineering moves.
- Support partner and community engagement at our flagship conference.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, BD, Partnerships and Production to keep every workstream visible and on track.
What you bring:
- 6+ years in community management, in tech/AI/developer spaces.
- A track record building ambassador, meetup, and regional community programs.
- Exceptional organization - you run multiple work streams without dropping a ball.
- A strong writer who adapts tone for developers, partners, and internal teams.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI, and you already use AI tools daily.
- Comfortable with tools like Notion/Airtable/Asana and Slack/Discord/Circle.
This is a rare shot at real ownership inside a small, fast-moving team building the definitive global gathering place for AI engineers. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you.
