A pioneering company in eco-friendly home care products is looking to add a Formulation Chemist to its expanding R&D team based in the Bay Area, CA. This is a full-time hybrid position, with relocation support.

The Formulation Chemist will be responsible for:

• Develop new formula prototypes, conduct lab testing, and participate in pilot plant trials under the direction of the Director of R&D.
• Coordinate off-site and third-party testing to validate product performance.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments, stability testing, and analytical results.
• Analyze and interpret test data to provide actionable insights for product enhancement.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistency and reliability.
• Perform routine quality checks on raw materials and finished products.
• Oversee lab equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Maintain laboratory safety protocols in compliance with local regulations.
• Manage inventory of lab supplies and raw materials.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends.

The Formulation Chemist should have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of formulation and product development experience in personal care, beauty, or home care products (preferred).
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE), mixtures experiments, and statistical approaches.
• Ability to conduct experiments, collect and organize data, and prepare reports.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP for ANOVA, DOE, Process Control) preferred.
• Python or basic coding experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role.
