Note:
This role is currently part of our general interest pool. We are not actively recruiting for it at this time, but we are reviewing submissions. If a strong fit emerges and the role is prioritized, a member of our team will reach out.
Thank you for your interest in Multiply Labs.
Join the Future of Robotic Biomanufacturing!Multiply Labs is a robotics company on a mission to solve a significant bottleneck in modern medicine: the manufacturing of life‑saving advanced biologics, from gene and cell therapies to antibodies and more.
Today, these therapies are produced through manual, labor‑intensive processes. Costs are extremely high—often $500K-$2M per patient—limiting access to only a small fraction of those who need them.
As product complexity increases and the cost of failure and scientific labor rises, the industry is shifting toward automation. Robotics and AI are making automated biologics manufacturing feasible, reliable, and economically scalable.
We believe the future of biomanufacturing is robotic - closed, automated, and scalable - ensuring critical therapeutics are accessible to every patient who needs them.
Why This Matters
We don’t just build robots; we build the infrastructure for the next generation of biologics manufacturing. Our technology allows biopharma companies to scale production without redesigning their science, drastically lowering regulatory hurdles and bringing costs down to a level where these treatments can actually reach patients.
About this RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated scientist who will contribute significantly to the advancement and validation of our automated processes. This role primarily involves hands‑on laboratory work, where you will directly contribute to improving the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of our robotic systems. This will provide you with a deep, intimate understanding of the intricacies of our technology. Beyond the lab, you will also serve as a key Multiply Labs representative during system deployments at customer sites.
This will involve working directly with clients to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our robotic solutions, offering an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in real‑world settings and to contribute directly to customer success.
- Experiment Planning and Execution: Assist in experiment design and execution, perform statistical analysis, and present data.
- Cluster Deployment Support: Act as the onsite biology team representative during the deployment of robotic systems at both domestic and international customer sites. This includes providing assistance and training to customer personnel on automated processes.
- Cross‑functional
Collaboration:
Work with other teams in improving and implementing automated processes. - Laboratory Maintenance: Assist with routine laboratory tasks, such as maintaining cell cultures, equipment, inventory, and documentation.
- Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, biomedical engineering):
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; OR
- Masters’ degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in an experimental biology laboratory, including:
- Hands‑on experience performing experiments
- Data analysis and interpretation of results
- Ability to plan and execute experiments independently
- Expertise in common laboratory techniques (e.g., cell culture, media preparation)
- Familiarity with standard safety procedures and sterile techniques (e.g., proper PPE, aseptic handling)
- Effective troubleshooting of experimental issues and technical failures
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques:
- Working efficiently within a Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC)
- Proper handling of sterile reagents and supplies
- Routine visual and microscopic monitoring to prevent microbial and cross‑contamination of cell lines
- Proficiency in human blood processing, including:
- Experience in handling and manipulating whole blood or apheresis‑collected components (e.g., PBMCs, stem cells)
- Post‑collection processing for downstream cell expansion protocols (e.g., isolating specific cell populations,…
