Position: Medical Science Liaison, Oncology, Lung & GU Tumors (Northern California)

Job Overview

Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology, Lung & GU Tumors – Field, Northern California, San Francisco. The MSL engages in scientific dialogue with healthcare leaders to translate science into patient care and support BMS medicines through their efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical engagement
    • Collaborate with thought leaders to gain clinical insights and develop medical plans aligned with product launch.
    • Engage in proactive scientific conversations to support product launch and lifecycle management.
    • Provide training for external speakers.
    • Strategically engage payers with FHEOR and Account Executives.
    • Support HCPs with unsolicited questions via face‑to‑face or virtual Medical on Call.
    • Document and achieve annual goals.
    • Leverage digital tools to enhance engagement.
  • Clinical trial engagement
    • Recommend study feasibility to the clinical development team.
    • Liaise with key accounts about clinical barriers and access equity.
    • Lead evidence read‑outs with investigators (e.g., Phase 3 top‑line data).
    • Support interventional and non‑interventional research studies.
    • Assist with site selection and clinical trial recruitment.
    • Support investigators with protocol execution and pharmacovigilance.
    • Provide CRO‑sponsored study support as needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, or NP with disease‑area or broad medical background.
  • Experience in a scientific or clinical research environment; field medical expertise preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the thought‑leader environment and needs.
  • Strong oncology disease‑area knowledge, treatment trends, and clinical landscape.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience, including compliance and regulatory guidelines.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial design and national/regional healthcare access environment.
  • Qualified driver status: at least 21 years of age, good‑standing driver’s license, and acceptable risk level.

Compensation Overview

Field – United States – US: $168,220 – $203,837. Additional incentive cash and stock may be available based on eligibility. Final compensation is determined by experience.
