Position Description
Assistant Professor — Center for Reproductive Sciences (CRS) in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at UCSF invites applications for a creative, collaborative scientist to build an independent, high‑impact research program in reproductive and developmental biology. We welcome candidates with strengths in germline and early developmental biology; placental/implantation biology; reproductive aging; multi‑omics and functional genomics; computational biology/AI; and translational diagnostics/therapeutics.
The successful candidate will benefit from UCSF’s world‑class core facilities (genomics, imaging, single‑cell, computational), vibrant graduate programs, and strong basic–clinical partnerships across campus.
- Develop and lead a rigorous, externally funded research program.
- Build cross‑disciplinary collaborations within CRS and across UCSF.
- Teach and mentor graduate students, postdocs, and, when appropriate, residents/fellows.
- Contribute to program development, service, and an inclusive, equitable research culture.
- PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated record of research excellence and productivity commensurate with rank.
- Commitment to mentoring, team science, and inclusive excellence.
- Postdoctoral training showing clear trajectory to independence.
- Evidence of innovation (e.g., new methods, datasets, tools) and collaborative leadership.
- Experience leveraging institutional cores (genomics, imaging, single‑cell, bioinformatics) and/or building translational pipelines.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step Table 5. The minimum base salary range is $131,200−$170,000. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation. UCSF Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences has a total salary plan that uses national benchmarking standards to set salaries by subspecialty.
