We are currently seeking an experienced individual with high integrity and professionalism to join our team in the role of Incident Commander. You will work on uniquely assigned projects under the guidance of Shift Supervisors and Area Managers for our top clients.
The Incident Commander serves as a liaison between Surefox and its clients while providing emergency response. All duties will comply with client policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations. You will respond to emergency events, medical and non‑medical issues, staffing deficiencies, and handle client requests in a timely manner. Under certain circumstances, Incident Commanders will initiate preliminary investigations by writing incident reports on all internal client and company issues.
We look for exceptional observational skills and close attention to detail. Veterans and candidates currently in the military reserve are welcomed. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position. Base hourly rate: $29.00.
- Develop relationships with clients, facilitate collaboration, and influence informally across different departments within the team.
- Track and report on program performance assurance and compliance requirements within the provided guidelines.
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot while monitoring access.
- Watch for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations onsite.
- Contact police or fire department when there is an emergency.
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property.
- Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Provide assistance to employees and create a safe, friendly environment for visitors and clients in a professional manner.
- Attend project meetings upon request to assess the security implications of proposed changes.
- Work independently and adapt to various work‑paces while maintaining a high level of attentiveness and energy.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Minimum age of 18 years per state licensing guidelines.
- Ability to pass an extensive background check and drug screening.
- Live within driving distance or willing to relocate.
- Current BSIS guard card or eligibility to obtain a guard card.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
- Effective communication with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Pass the Surefox Physical Agility Test (SPAT), with or without reasonable accommodation, prior to the scheduled start date.
- The SPAT is a timed sequence of multiple physical events requiring progress along a predetermined path from event to event in a continuous manner until complete.
- Security or law‑enforcement related experience preferred.
- Military background is a plus.
- Report writing experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid training is preferred.
