We are currently seeking experienced part‑time Security Officers with high integrity and professionalism who can work, when called upon, in multiple Surefox locations servicing a variety of different clients.
The Part Time Security Officer is responsible for providing observation, physical security, and overwatch to assigned clients throughout Surefox Programs. Due to the sensitive nature of this role, we require our officers to pass a comprehensive background check. Security Officers when activated will be assigned to existing Surefox programs or special events located in the vicinity of both San Francisco and Sunnyvale, CA.
We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position at this time.
Compensation for this position is $26.00 per hour. We are currently hiring for Days, Swings, and Grave Shifts.
What You Will Do- Support staffing requirements at multiple Surefox campus locations during shortages due to vacations, call‑offs, no‑shows, suspensions, holidays, or other program needs.
- Support and staff various positions, including, but not limited to, Resilience Officer, Incident Commander, and Supervisor, as required.
- Work security at events, as required.
- If offered the opportunity, be expected to work on weekends and holidays with limited notice, and work during high‑need periods.
- Expect to work and support multiple shifts, including Days, Swings, and Graves.
- Staff multiple office locations until permanent Resilience Officer or Incident Commander can be hired.
- Be familiar with and comply with standard operating procedures set by programs and/or clients you may be assisting.
- Develop relationships with clients, facilitate collaboration, and have the ability to influence informally across different departments within the team.
- Cooperate with partnering security vendors or operations centers.
- Track and report on program performance assurance and compliance requirements within the provided guidelines.
- Utilize basic electronic communications devices, including cellular devices or radios.
- Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot, while monitoring access.
- Watch for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations onsite.
- Contact the police or fire department if and when there is an emergency.
- Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
- Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property.
- Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Provide assistance to employees and create a safe and friendly environment for visitors and clients in a professional manner.
- Attend project meetings upon request to assess the security implications of proposed changes.
- Work independently and adapt to various work‑paces while always maintaining a high level of attentiveness and energy.
- High motivation and a strong sense of integrity.
- Willingness to work Days, Swings, and Grave shifts, and to work holidays and weekends.
- Eligibility for employment within the United States.
- Minimum 18 years old per state licensing guidelines.
- Valid and current driver license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of an extensive background check and drug screening.
- Residence within driving distance of the San Francisco Bay Area or willingness to relocate.
- Current BSIS guard card.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
- Effective communication skills with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
- Good judgment and ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Security or law enforcement related experience.
- Military background.
- Report writing experience.
- CPR and First Aid training.
