Position: Security Officer -SF (73664)

Inter‑Con is looking for an Unarmed Security Officer who will serve as a first responder, conduct patrols, monitor advanced security systems, and support emergency response, medical incidents, and compliance operations. The role requires interacting daily with employees, visitors, contractors, and leadership, and representing Inter‑Con and the Client with professionalism.

Essential Functions
  • Communicate effectively on a daily basis with Client employees and contract personnel across a wide range of roles, from entry‑level employees to executive leadership.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a positive and professional first impression of the Client facility while acting as an ambassador for both Client and Inter‑Con through exceptional customer service.
  • Perform regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, property, and assets.
  • Patrol parking lots to ensure compliance with Client parking regulations and issue parking citations to violators as required.
  • Maintain a heightened level of situational awareness at all times, proactively identifying, reporting, and responding to suspicious, unsafe, or unusual activity.
  • Act in a first‑responder capacity by responding effectively to medical emergencies, chemical spills, fires, severe weather events, suspicious activity, and other emergency situations.
  • Respond to medical incidents and provide first aid or emergency medical assistance for injuries common within a manufacturing environment, in accordance with training and established protocols.
  • Partner closely with the on‑site Client Medical team to ensure sick or injured individuals receive appropriate and timely care.
  • Respond to requests for Hot Work permits, verifying that all Client and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements are met prior to issuing permits.
  • Conduct routine inspections of fire protection and fire prevention equipment to ensure compliance with NFPA standards.
  • Inspect and monitor site security equipment and systems to ensure compliance with Client Global Security standards.
  • Monitor and operate plant security systems, including video surveillance, access control systems, fire alarm systems, severe weather monitoring, and emergency dispatch communications.
  • Inspect commercial motor vehicles entering and exiting the facility to ensure proper access control and verify shipments meet Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) requirements.
  • Use proper spelling and grammar to write reports following Client’s documentation standards.
Physical And Environmental Requirements
  • Demonstrate the ability to walk extensively per shift while performing routine and direct patrols throughout the facility.
  • Climb stairs and ladders as needed to conduct patrols, inspections, and emergency response activities.
  • Access rooftops and elevated platforms as well as dark spaces when required to support security operations, inspections, or emergency response situations.
  • Work outdoors or in assigned guard booths year‑round, remaining effective during a wide range of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to safely operate company or Client motor vehicles, golf carts, or other utility type vehicles.
Work Environment and Schedule
  • Job operates in client sites which could be indoors or outdoors.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.
  • Open availability Nights, Weekends, Holidays and overtime/hold overs as directed.
  • Work various shifts and Holidays as assigned.
Requirements
  • Security Experience.
  • Valid California  California Driver License or Valid Identification.
  • Security licenses per State Law requirements.
  • High school Diploma/GED.
  • Speak, Read, and Write fluently in English.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Union position (dues required per State Laws).
