Aviation Security Analyst (9212) – SFO – (A00030)
The 9212 Aviation Security Analyst performs routine and special‑emphasis security checks of terminal and gate boarding areas, cargo facilities, airport tenant leasehold, and perimeter fencing. The position is instrumental in ensuring compliance with Airport and Transportation Security Regulations, responding to and investigating security incidents, and working within the Security Operations Center (SOC) for CCTV and access control system monitoring.
Essential Functions- Inspect and evaluate airport and tenant facilities, access controls, barriers, fences, lighting for compliance with regulations; suspend operations when unsecured conditions are found and reopen once rectified.
- Ensure compliance with and enforce procedures for the airport’s Access Control System, verifying proper identification media.
- Work within SOC performing CCTV and access control system monitoring and surveillance in compliance with TSA and airport regulations.
- Respond to and investigate security breaches and violations, conduct interviews, recommend corrective action, and file reports.
- Issue admonishments for safety and security violations and maintain the admonishment database.
- Conduct routine and special‑emphasis security checks of terminal and gate boarding areas, cargo facilities, tenant leasehold, and perimeter fencing; respond to security calls and access control alarms.
- Oversee security operations for construction projects, special events, and other special security operations to ensure compliance with the Airport Security Program.
- Monitor operations of air carriers and tenants with security responsibilities over exclusive areas as established by agreement.
- Provide airport staff and tenants with regulatory information and guidance.
- Respond and assist in all security emergencies and crises such as explosive device threats, air piracy, and terrorism.
- Prepare informational and operational reports.
- Provide special administrative or management assistance to the Airport Security Coordinator, may assist as Operations Supervisor, and evaluate new security systems and technology.
- Develop training programs, SOPs, and related programs; may provide operations‑related training to tenants.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED or High School Proficiency Examination)
ExperienceTwo (2) years of safety and/or security operations experience at an airport, airbase, airline, military base, or emergency communications dispatch center, including at least six (6) months of recent aviation security experience.
License and CertificationPossession of or ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver license prior to employment.
Substitution- Associate’s degree in Aviation Management or related field substitutes one (1) year of required experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or related field substitutes two (2) years of required experience.
- Completion of a six‑month program equivalent to the Airfield or Aviation Security Training Program substitutes the required six months of recent aviation security experience.
- Working knowledge of CFR Part 1542.
- Knowledge of CCTV, video analytics, security systems, and surveillance skills.
- Ability to work for extended periods with CCTV and computer systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm in high‑stress environments.
- Recent aviation security experience within the last three (3) years, including analysis and recommendations.
